Hotel customers around the world who appreciate the many benefits a hotel can offer their business prefer LPG. Traditionally chosen for heating and cooking, LPG has a lot more to offer to hotels these days. It is the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly energy for many more applications, such as laundry dryers, emergency generators, incinerators, air conditioning or utility carts.

Everybody knows about using LPG for central heating, for hot water and for cooking. But did you know that there are a multitude of other innovative applications that could increase your guests’ comfort and improve the environment as well as save you money? Here are some of them:

Laundry dryers: The dominant fuel used in dryers is electricity, but you could make significant savings by using LPG for the heating operation (electricity will still be required for other parts of the operation but consumption will be significantly reduced). In many cases the initial price of the dryer will be lower than for a model operating entirely on electricity.

Utility carts: Resort hotels often use small gasoline-powered buggies to transport guests and their luggage around the hotel. The same type of vehicle is used to support maintenance tasks around the resort. These vehicles can be converted to operate on LPG. Contact us to find out about availability in your area.

Terrace heaters: The 'umbrella-style' terrace heater is growing in popularity with hotels as it provides a greater opportunity for outside dining. This feature has two benefits for your hotel: it expands the number of dining/drinking guests you can accommodate, and it improves the offer to your customers by extending the 'al fresco' season. This means a direct improvement to the bottom line as you can use your tables on the terrace for longer, therefore keeping that maximum summer capacity throughout the year.

'Flaming Torch' lights: Popular with resort hotels, this appliance replaces conventional street lights with an elevated flaming torch, where the LPG supply is housed in the base of the light. These features are very popular with hotel guests, but they are not known everywhere throughout the hotel industry.

Commercial mobile catering units and food displays: Designed to be mobile and with a stand-alone LPG power source, a comprehensive range of commercial grade catering and food display cabinets are available. They allow your hotel to provide warm food in the best spots, for special events such as weddings, etc.

Incinerators: The increasing cost of waste disposal has led to many hotel operators incinerating some of the waste on their premises. LPG-fuelled incinerators produce less exhaust emissions than other available fuels and are already being used by hotels to improve their local air quality. Why not take things one step further by using the ashes from the incinerator to improve the soil quality in your hotel gardens!

Air conditioning: LPG can be used as a very efficient alternative to electricity for new air conditioning units.

Emergency generators: If your hotel needs to have emergency generators to ensure availability of electricity, why not use LPG? It will give you that power with less exhaust emissions and no potential for ground contamination. LPG-powered generators are available and can easily replace other available fuels.

Swimming pool heaters: LPG is very well suited to heat water for swimming pools and spas. Several hundred installations are in operation worldwide.

Mosquito killer: An LPG-fuelled mosquito killer will reduce your insect problem. The appliance is becoming popular in tropical regions and is especially suited for use on hotel patios and external small areas (poolside) where alternative power supplies are limited.
